Ruben R. Cantu Jr. ( October 17, 1966 - May 29, 2024) a lifetime resident of Corpus Christi Texas has gained his wings. Our precious husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away surrounded by his loving family at the age of 57.
He is preceded in death by his father Ruben Cantu Sr. He is survived by his wife Yolanda Cantu; children Ruben Cantu III and Amando (Manny) Cantu; mother Laira Cantu; sisters: Mary Lou Cantu and Vangie (J.R.) Rodriguez and many nieces, nephews, numerous family members and friends who will miss him.
He was a retired U.S. Federal Probation Officer with 20 years of service. He was a hard worker, devoted and family oriented.
Ruben and Yolanda were married for 24 years. His greatest joy was spending time outdoors barbecuing, fishing, estate sale hunting, video games and loved listening to music with his wife and children.
Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit continues to guide us and encourage us to live with the same joy and passion that he did.
Ruben’s journey has been one of purpose and joy, we will always carry his memory in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ruben’s life Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78415. A holy rosary will occur Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 3442 Holly Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78415. A graveside service will occur Friday, June 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, TX 78408.
