Roque G. Garcia Jr.

He was born March 19, 1950 to Roque L. and Elva G. Garcia in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Roque was married to his wife, Maria Imelda for 39 years but together for 42 years. Together they had three children, Michelle, Ricky, and Irene. He owned Century Fence Company for many years until he picked up the trade as a welder. He worked for many refinery contractors for over 20 years. He earned many welding certificates at Del Mar West Campus toward his trade. He worked hard for his family even doing side jobs to earn extra income. He enjoyed working with his son on many things including teaching his son everything he knows today.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roque L. Garcia and Elva G. Garcia.

Roque is survived by his wife, Imelda; his children, Michelle Garcia, Ricky (Gloria) Garcia and Irene Garcia; his grandchildren, Esla Imelda , Eric Rainen and Ella Francine Garcia. Also surviving are his brothers, Guadalupe (Herminia) Garcia, Rene (Teresa) Garcia, Raul (Alicia) Garcia and Daniel (Dora) Garcia; sisters, Diana (Luis) Rojas and Rosa M. Garcia, and many cousins.

Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
