Richard joins his father, Valentin Elizondo and his grandparents, Hayes and Clara Dix; Valentin and Isabel Elizondo, in heaven. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Elizondo and his two sons, Caleb and Jayden; his mother Patricia Dix-Aleman, brother Robert Elizondo, and sisters Liz Elizondo and Angie (Mark) Rodriguez, and nephews, Robert Andrew and Matthew.
Richard was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 31, 1977. He graduated from W. B Ray High School in 1995 and attended Del Mar College. He went on to open his own successful business, Ionos Communications. On June 6, 2001, he married, Sarah, his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family.
From a young age, Richard enjoyed martial arts and practiced for many years. His passion for martial arts inspired him to teach and share his knowledge. Sensei Richard opened his own dojo, South Texas Budokan. He perfected his technique and skill by attending seminars all over the world. His lifelong training led to his ranking of Judan - 10th Degree Black Belt. Sensei Richard touched many lives as a teacher, mentor, and a good friend.
Richard was loved and respected by many. Until we meet again brother….
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Richard may be made by performing an unexpected good deed for another person.
Visitation will be held at Believe Church, 4420 S. Staples, on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:30 pm with Celebration of Life to follow at 3:30 pm. Services will conclude after.
