Reynaldo G. Silvas, 70 years old, was called to Heaven on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on April 28, 1953, as the son of Eugene M. Silvas and Martha G. Silvas in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Reynaldo graduated from Foy Moody High School in 1972. He went on to have an accomplished career with H-E-B where he was a Diesel Mechanic and retired after 35 years of faithful service to H-E-B. He loved life and often found himself enjoying time with his family, his wife Maria Silvas, his four girls, and his grandchildren. Reynaldo also loved to spend time at his ranch in Skidmore, Texas. You could often find him listening to music by Little Joe. Everyone knew Reynaldo as a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan who rooted for his team whether they won or lost! Reynaldo is described as a big jokester and could always make people smile. His family will always remember him as an encouraging and uplifting human being who always knew the right things to say. When visiting his daughters at their homes, he would often walk in, smell the aroma of food and say, “What’s on the menu?”
Reynaldo is preceded in death by his father, Eugene M. Silvas; his mother, Martha G. Silvas; his son-in-law, Tony Clark Sr.; and his sister, Lucy Silvas.
Reynaldo leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Maria Silvas; his four girls, Veronica Contreras, Evie Silvas (Rick Benavides), Stephenie Ann Silvas (beloved Tony Clark Sr.), and Leann Silvas (Anthony Hinojosa); his 11 grandchildren, Orlando Noriega, Jessica Noriega, Melissa Rodriguez, Kaitlyn Vela, Tony Clark Jr., Maddie Vela, Rey Clark, Macie Figueroa, Mariah Figueroa, Brandon Clark, and Marilyn Hinojosa; his four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Martin Pena, Rosie Ramirez, and Eugene Silvas Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Those with the honor of being a pallbearer are as follows: Orlando Noriega, Tony Clark Jr., Rey Clark, Eugene Silvas, J.R. Lopez, Anthony Hinojosa, and Rick Benavides.
Family will be receiving friends from 5 PM – 9 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Funeraria del Angel – Cheyenne, with a Holy Rosary to be recited that same night at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church on Friday, June 23, 2023. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
