Raul "Roy" Ortiz Jr.

Raul “Roy” Ortiz Jr., 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away December 4, 2020. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 8, 1934. Roy graduated from Roy Miller High School and received his Vocational Degree from Del Mar College. He was married to Virginia Ortiz on March 3, 1957.

Roy had a career in Welding and Teaching. He owned Roy’s Machine & Fabrication as well as Roy’s Propeller. Roy taught at the B-County College for many years. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran and Business Owner. Roy always shared his passion for Propeller Repairs, walking, and family time.

Roy is survived by his children, Norma Helsten, Edward Ortiz, Erika Rubalcava, and Christopher Ortiz; his grandchildren, Edward Ortiz Jr., Carlo Helsten, Liam Dooley, Adrian Raul Rubalcava, Brian Ortiz, Cara Ortiz, Adam Ortiz, and Christian Ortiz. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Giancarlo Helsten, Rose Milea Helsten, Kade Russell Rubalcava, Kanyon Reed Rubalcava, and Henry Brian Ortiz; his brother, Humberto Ortiz; and his sister, Josefa Hernandez.

Family will be receiving friends 9:00 am December 14, 2020 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
