Ramon C. Medina, has been united again with the love of his life of 50 years, Helen Medina. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who passed away on May 23, 2012 at the age of 83. He was a life-long resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Roberto and Maria Medina and his sister, Hermina “Minnie” Hange. Ramon attended Corpus Christi High School, was a Golden Gloves Boxer, he served as a United States Marine, a member of the United Steel Workers of America and the American Legion Post 364. He served as a Financial Secretary for the AFL-CIO Union, he was retired from Reynolds Metals Company after thirty-four years and a second retirement from HEB after fourteen years.
Survivors include five daughters, Tina (Tom) Thames, Sylvia (Robert) Duarte, Julie (Brad) Jauert, Margie (Rene) Garcia, Angie (John) Arellano; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Lupe Chavez and Emma Rabago also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2012 with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
