Pedro “Pete the Heat” “Skittles” Hinojosa Jr., age 52, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born June 13, 1968 in Kingsville, Texas to Pedro and Alma Rosa Hinojosa.
Pete was a Freemason, a Shriner, and a Shriner Clown named “Skittles.” He enjoyed working on old cars and trucks. He was a member of the Rejects Car Club. He was famously known as “Pete the Heat” from his racing days.
Pete served as a Deputy Sheriff for 23 years and retired as a Constable. He was proud to have served the Nueces County Residents.
Pete is survived by his beloved wife, Lydia Hinojosa; his children, Pedro Hinojosa III and Jacob Michael Hinojosa; his mother Alma Rosa Hinojosa; his sister, Esmeralda Hinojosa; his brother, Humberto Hinojosa; in-laws, Ysidro and Janie Puente; sister-in-laws, Norma Puente (Rob Clark), Christina Puente Garcia (Arnie Garcia), Vicky Puente (Jose Pereida). Pete is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, mentors and his fur babies.
Pete is predeceased by his father, Pedro Hinojosa (March 28, 2015).
Those who have the honor of being a pallbearer are as follows: Bert Hinojosa, Arnulfo Garcia, Danny Lorberau, JR Galvan, John Paul Obregon, Robert Volkman, Oscar Farias, and Ismael Farias.
Funeral Services are arranged for Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home beginning at 9:00 am with Family Receiving Friends. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 am and Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
