Pedro G. Gonzalez

Pedro G. Gonzalez, age 94, passed away March 25, 2015. He was born on November 10, 1920 to Pedro and Paula Gonzalez in San Vicente Ranch by Duval County. He graduated from San Diego High School in 1939. He enlisted in the US Marines in November, 1941 through December 1945 during WWII and enlisted as a Heavy Double Crew Man in the South Pacific Area. He married his wife of 68 years, Esperanza Luna on September 15, 1946. He was employed by Corn Products Refinery Company. Pedro was a loving father, son and brother and will be dearly missed. Pedro was a member of the Trail Rides Association with other Veterans of War and was very devoted to the military honors of the US and US Veterans. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, sense of adventure and devotion to his family.

Pedro is preceded in death by his son, Hector Gonzalez, parents and siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Esperanza Luna Gonzalez, daughter-in-law, Veronica H. Gonzalez, niece Becky (David) Amaya Oliveira whom he loved like a daughter, grandchildren, Matthew (Samantha) Gonzalez and Clarissa Gonzalez, one great-grandchild, nephews, Daniel, Alex and Matthew Oliveira whom he loved like grandchildren and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm that same evening. Funeral services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Rene L. Amaya, Rodolfo H. Bazan, Alejo C. Garcia, Matthew D. Oliveira, Alexander D. Oliveira and Matthew Gonzalez.
