He graduated from Tuloso- Midway High School and served in the Air Force from 1968-1971.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and children Luciano and Valerie Vela.
He is survived by his wife Herminia Heil, and his children: sons Bryan Heil, Martin Heil Jr., Richard Vela, and daughter Mary Ann Jennings.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37 Corpus Christi Texas 78410.
Services are entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Cheyenne, 549 Cheyenne Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78405.
