Marion Louise Snell, 78, was born June 23, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and left us November 6, 2014, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She spent her childhood first in Minnesota and then moved to Southern, California, where she graduated from Whittier College.
Marion worked as an elementary school teacher in South Whittier (second grade was always her favorite grade to teach). It was there that she married Robert A. Snell and raised her three children, Ann L. Odle, Scott E. Odle and Laura M. Peck. This December would have been Robert and Marion’s 50th wedding anniversary.
She made many friends in Southern California; but when she retired in 1996, Robert and Marion moved to Corpus Christi, Texas to help raise their grandson, William B. Peck.
Marion always surrounded herself with good friends, lots of books and her beloved pets. She would frequently go to Barnes & Noble and Half-Price Books for a little peace and quiet, with a cup of coffee and a scone. She participated in her local Doll Club and attended Bible Classes at Asbury United Methodist Church- where she and Robert were long-time members.
Marion has left behind many friends, old and new. She is survived by her husband Robert Snell; her daughters, Ann Odle and Laura Peck; her son and daughter in law, Scott Odle and Joy Kobashigawa; and her grandson William Peck. She will be remembered for her strength, her love for God, family, her pets, a good cup of coffee, and a glass of wine.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church. Private family burial will be at a later date at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
