Manuel Z. Trevino, age 89, passed away on March 29, 2018. He was born in Edna, TX on February 14, 1929. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the Merchant Marines for 34 years serving during World War II. He was a life member of Del Mar Lodge 1350 and was Worshipful Master from 1992 thru 1993. He was also a member of the York Rite Bodies and Al Amin Shrine. He will be remembered for his charity to others and his sense of humor. Manuel loved the outdoors, especially the ocean. He was known for his cooking and family gatherings. Manuel loved his grandchildren who called him "Grandpa (Popo)". Manuel will be missed by all who loved him.
Manuel is preceded in death by his wife, Elida D. Trevino and his son, Felipe Israel Trevino.
Survivors include his daughters, Gloria (Thomas) Desmond, Cordelia (Jacob Jordan) Loya and Selena Trevino; sons, Martin (Eva) Trevino, Manuel (Chubbie) Trevino, Reuel (Amra) Trevino, Rolando (Connie) Trevino and Felipe (Olga) Trevino; a brother and sister; several grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a great-great grandchild; a loving pet (dog) "Jr." also survive him.
Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park with Military Honors.
