Lydia H. Jackson, age 85 of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on November 13, 2024. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 19, 1939, to Augustin and Lorenza Hernandez. Lydia was the middle sibling out of three children. Lydia was a devout Christian and attended Glory Full Gospel Church every Wednesday and Sunday for 31 years.
Lydia was met at the gates of Heaven by her parents, Augustine and Lorenza Hernandez; ex-husband, Alfredo G. Hernandez; brother, Richard F. Hernandez; sister, Palmera Frame; son, Alfredo G. Hernandez Jr.; other beloved family, Flora Estella Luna and Max Serrata; and her beloved dogs, Laredo and Max. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Chapa (Sylvia Garcia) and Clara Muguerza; sister-in-law, Elena Hernandez; eight grandchildren, Marcie A. Montez (John David Montez), Marc A. Hernandez, Julianna Hernandez, Ashley Brianna Hernandez-Chapa, Amanda Rose Hernandez, Adam Muguerza Jr., Michael Matthew Muguerza, and Valerie Elexis Muguerza; great-grandchildren, Isabella Jolie Montez, Gabriella Maribel Montez, Jeremy Hernandez Jr., and Jayce Hernandez.
Lydia was a good woman, mom, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and a very hard worker. She worked at Kroger Grocery store, for 39 years. She was funny, loving, caring, sweet, exciting, loved music, and was very devout to her Bible which made her full of knowledge about Christianity. She even traveled to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and where our Heavenly Father walked throughout those beautiful places.
We will always remember Lydia for the beautiful person she was inside and out.
Those with the honor of being a pallbearer for Lydia are: Adam Muguerza Jr., Marc Anthony Hernandez, Louis Serrata, Larry Serrata Sr., Larry Serrata Jr., Tony Ginardi, and Anthony Ginardi.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 9 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, where a Prayer Service will be recited that same night beginning at 7 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
