Loren was born May 10, 1933 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota to parents, Ralph Lester and Alice Paulson. He joined the United States Navy in 1952 and proudly served his country for 20 years including being stationed in Corpus Christi where he met his beautiful bride, Dora Elizabeth Villarreal. He retired from the United States Navy, and the couple made their home in Corpus Christi where they raised their four children.
Loren joined the United States Postal Service in Corpus Christi and retired there in 1980. His faith and his family were the basis of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved serving others. He was very active in working in the genealogy program. He was an avid bowler and spent many years there with his friends at Saratoga Lanes. He was a huge sports fan, especially of the Minnesota Vikings and the Corpus Christi Hooks. As a youth Loren played varsity football, and wrestled. He loved animals especially horses. He with family members rode in parades with the Golden Horseshoe Saddle Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the United States. He served faithfully in the church serving in several bishoprics, was director of the Family History Center for several years, and served in various other capacities.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lester Ralph Paulson and Alice Phillips Paulson.
Loren is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dora. His four children; Steven Paulson of Corpus Christi, Diane (Bob) Dykes of Lynden, WA., Debbie (Sam) Reed of Corpus Christi and Jeannette (Steve) Arnold of Corpus Christi. He very much loved his eighteen beautiful grandchildren and twenty-one wonderful great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind three brothers, Don, Lyle and Jimmy and one sister Faye; and numerous other family members.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening (September 29th) from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 6630 Wooldridge Road in Corpus Christi, with burial immediately following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Corpus Christi.
