Kathleen Camacho

Kathleen (Byrd) Camacho, 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on March 31, 2023. She was born in Port Isabel, Texas on May 11, 1951 to Mary Sue Byrd and Roy Lee Byrd. She grew up in Port Isabel, TX receiving her high school diploma from Port Isabel High School. She received her LVN from Brownsville Community College and worked as a nurse for 54 years.

She married Jesus Camacho on December 31, 1980 and they shared 42 years of marriage together. She was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.

She enjoyed spending her time with family, sewing, cooking and baking. Kathleen was an animal lover who loved and cherished her Olde English Bulldog named “Baby.”

Kathleen leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful and caring memories to help ease our sorrows. She was one of the most caring people who always did the world for anyone who needed it and shall never be forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Camacho; her parents, Mary Sue Byrd and Roy Lee Byrd and sister Roylene Byrd Nale.

She is survived by her son, Roy (Rachel) Camacho; grandchildren, Edward Camacho, Christopher Camacho and Emelia Martinez. She is also survived by and missed by her sisters and brother; Patricia Brown, Sharon Barnhill, Susan DelaGarza, Calvin (Sandra) Byrd and Darlene (Pancho) Herrera.

She also leaves behind her cherished pet “Baby” as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Memorial Services will be private and coordinated amongst family. Upon cremation, her ashes will be buried in her home town amongst family in Port Isabel, TX.
