Jose Oscar “Choca” “Chuy” Saenz Sr. passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2015 at the age of 75. He was born on May 29, 1940 in Robstown, Texas to the late Jose Vela Saenz and Estefana Garcia Saenz. He retired from the Coastal State Refinery after 21 years and retired from the Army National Guard after 23 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Jose Oscar is survived by his children, Tammy Saenz, Jose Oscar Saenz II (Samantha) and Ernest Mungia (April) and grandchildren, Erica Edmonds (Kenneth), Gabriel Mungia, Kayleigh Mungia, Mathew Mungia and Adam Saenz. He is also survived by his brothers, Ramiro Saenz (the late Valentina), Sam Saenz (Celina) and Rogelio Saenz (Odelia).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 12, 2015, at Christ the King Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
