I met Joey 7 years ago on my first visit to Corpus.  He was an amazing , loving and caring man. Each subsequent April visit to Corpus he welcomed me with open arms and hospitality. My visits to Texas from Michigan will not be the same.  I will think of Joey every time I'm in Corpus Christi.  My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends. You will be missed but never forgotten Joey. God be with you.

I look forward to seeing Joey again! Fun, kind, welcoming to all, & loved the Lord. I met Joey before I married his cousin Bobby. Unexpectedly Joey came to a worship night I had with my family & mutual friends in 2015, I’ll never forget that evening. It was an evening of love, tears, laughter, & healing. Joey knew & loved our Lord & blessed us with a message & scripture. I knew Holy Spirit was moving because Joey delivered the same message & scripture I had planned to share without us ever speaking to each other. He spoke with authority & unexplainable joy of his experiences with God. By the time the evening ended, I felt as if I had known him for years. Brings me to tears remembering how God’s presence joined us that evening. Eventually Bobby & I married & we often ran into Joey together.  It was always a pleasure catching up. He always had a big smile seeing Bobby with lots of laughter as they caught up about life or remembered funny child hood memories. He demonstrated much kindness. He was accepting of all people & seemed to be good at finding something in common with others to engage in pleasant conversations. He loved & respected his family & the legacy they had built. Thank you Martinez family for opening your home & creating space for us to have memories with Joey & you all. My thoughts & continued prayers are with his whole family & close friends. A beautiful soul for sure & my heart aches looking at family photos & the memories left but makes me happy that I know he secured his home with our Lord, oh what sweet comfort :)

, HIS UNCLE Passed.     I remember that song , "WIND BENEATH MY WINGS".  CAN'T RECALL IF HE, "JOEY"  SANG IT?   OR HE CHOSE IT FOR HIS UNCLE FELIPE.    IT WAS SO SWEET OF HIM N VERY TOUCHING TO ALL OF US. WE WERE ALL CRYING.
 ANOTHER TIME WHEN.  "NENA  LEAL SANG IN CHURCH WITH HER YOUNG DAUGHTERS.
HE SEEMED TO BE ENJOYING THEIR  SINGING.   SPECIALLY THE YOUNG GIRL SINGING.   HE WAS ALWAYS SWEET N A LITTLE SHY BUT VERY FRIENDLY TOWARDS HIS FAMILY .

Joey was the most respectful and kind young man I've ever met, from childhood to the end. My entire family loved him. I could see God in his eyes. Joe and Connie, you raised an excellent person.  I pray his family be comforted with the peace of the Lord. I pray his coworkers also be comforted. 

So many great memories with Joey but one of my favorites was Our wedding. The way he danced on the dance floor with a BIG smile on his face just lit up the entire room. Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without my brother in law, but much more than that he was a big brother to me too. We’re gonna miss you much , nothing will be the same ... we love you Joey .

My cousin, my brother, my bestfriend I will miss you so much. Joey knew how to cheer someone up, always the peace maker and joker. He had his little words for everything. He was a man after God's own heart. He loved his yorkies they were his pride and joy. Esparanza, Tricksie, Tito, and his baby girl FeFe, and Princess. He loved them all. He would make sure they had the best. He loved his work and he was such a business man but loved those politics and he would tell me things that were going on in the world and I would just listen. He called me every morning just to tell me if I was good and if I need anything. He would say prima if you need anything let me know ok don't do without and the same response every time I would say I'm good joey.  I miss him so much, his big bear hugs and our night talks. Till we see each other again.  God received another musician in His choir . Love you primo my morning and night will never be the same without you in it.❤❤❤😘

When I used to work at the family store Joey always joked with us. He was so kind-hearted and just wanted to make us laugh. His music, his jokes and laughing with us will be so missed.  My heart is with the Martinez family, my dear friends. May heaven receive this angel and to laugh and sing along with him.

 especially when my father passed away.  You always made me laugh. I enjoyed hearing you speak about your passion for God, business plans, your dogs and  politics.

My big brother , you took time to spend with me after 16 hours of work when I was little and I know you were tired, I am glad to know you loved me that much . Always giving to our family , bringing joy and laughter. Uniting the whole family together . One of the strongest and toughest  man of god I know . I can’t wait to be United again to tell you what I have accomplished in my life the one which you have set a path for me and for you to tell me how your first day of heaven was . I hope one day I can at least become half the man you are and for my sons to be like you . Thank you for being the best uncle to my babies . I love you , forever your booboo bear 

I don't have a picture of joey but I know this, he was always talking with a great smile and he will be missed. I hope he not in pain anymore and Everything he was going through is gone. He always had a kind heart and always make conversation with everyone no matter what. A animal lover for sure , Joey love his animals. May he rest in peace now and feel free. You will be missed 💙

When Joey sang, "You are my hero" at his grandma Georgianas' funeral, he sang it from the heart.  I later asked him if he would sing it for me when I passed and he said, " yes, Tia, I will".  Now he will sing it from heaven, I just know he will. He was such a beautiful little boy, that grew into such a beautiful and Godly man. He will be greatly missed. Love you Joey, RIP sweet and precious,  Joey.🙏❤

I have great admiration for Joey, he was well mannered,and respectful if you would make him stop working for a while he'd smile at you with contentment. He was a business man, always taking care of family business. Whenever I shopped on Morgan I would make it a point to talk to him about business, he was always so enthusiastic. I know he loved the Lord so ill see him again, he will be greatly missed. In my eyes he was a Great business man. I pray comfort,  and healing on all his family in Jesus Mighty Name.

Joey you will always be my bestie forever in ever 😔 my heart hurts so much but I know you are in a better place singing and dancing praising God cause we would share moments together at church I love you so much and I will never forget you until we meet again 😥
