Jose Francisco Flores, age 85, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2024. He was born in Edinburgh, Texas, on September 4, 1938, to parents, Julian and Eutimia Flores. Jose went on to marry his beloved wife, Clara Linda Flores.
Jose worked for the Corpus Christi Police Department until his eventual retirement in 1996. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army in the National Guard. For most of his life, he was a proud member of the Police Officer’s Association.
Jose had a passion for hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Whether it was a family barbecue, or just spending quality time with his family, Jose treasured each moment. In those special moments, he would often teach his son and grandkids the meaning of hard work, discipline, and earning your way in life.
Jose loved watching old spaghetti westerns on TV. Until the day of his passing, he was still watching his cowboy shows. Jose also enjoyed traveling and loved nature. Some of his fondest memories and stories are from his excursions to Alaska and Hawaii. He had an appreciation for the beauty of nature and the wildlife that inhabited these different areas.
Throughout his life, Jose was known for his stoic nature but having a kind and compassionate soul. He showed grace and understanding while on the police force. Lately, his family and friends have been reminiscing on stories of how Jose had the perfect demeanor as a police officer. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jose is reunited with his beloved wife, Clara Linda Flores; and his son, Joe Michael Flores. He leaves his memories to his grandson, Tyler Flores; granddaughter, Sarah Flores; great-granddaughter, Everly Flores; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 12 PM on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:30 PM that same afternoon, where services will conclude in the Memory Gardens Chapel.
