Jesus "Jesse" Montoya

Jesse was born on July 9, 1950 to Pedro and Elida Montoya in Corpus Christi. Early in life, Jesse learned from his parents the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic into his family.

After high school, he met his wife, Anita Salazar and they wed on August 29, 1969. Together they went on to have four children. Always putting family first, Jesse and Anita later went on to raise four of their grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and loving father who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Montoya Sr. and Elida Montoya; his sister, Aurora Mitchell; his brother, Alejandro Montoya, and a grandchild, Joshua Garcia.

He is survived by his spouse, Anita Montoya and his children, Edward Montoya, Patricia A. Garcia (Abel), Jennifer A. Montoya (Rey), Rachel A. Montoya; nine grandchildren, Abel Garcia III, Hannah M. Gonzales (Braden), Reynaldo Hanysz, Benjamin Hanysz, Aaron Hanysz, Mark Anthony Montoya, Faith Garcia (Louie), Hope Montoya (Abel), and Isaih Montoya; and one great-grandchild, Jeremiah Nathaniel Juarez; one brother, Pedro Montoya Jr. (Carmen) and two sisters, Dolores Salinas and Isabel Longoria.

He was a true role model who we will always look up to. Visitation to be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 5:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church at 2:00 pm with the Rite of Committal and burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Dad, you are now at peace but will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
