Janie will be remembered for her deeply compassionate heart and for her joyful and generous spirit. She loved dancing, reading, fishing, sitting by the campfire at night and window shopping.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Aurora Apac and a brother, Manuel Jaime Cantu. She is survived by her father, Jose Apac of Corpus Christi, Texas; her lifelong partner, Mary Jane Guerra; daughter, Stephanie Marie Silva (Christopher); granddaughter, Mary Jane Marie Guerra and grandson, Christopher Lee Silva. Also surviving are her sisters and brother; Rosario Lopez, Evangelina Buckley, Maria Aurora Apac Smith (Paul) of San Antonio, Arturo Apac, Adriana Salinas and many nieces and nephews.
The family wants to especially thank the doctors and nursing staff at Spohn Shoreline Emergency for all their care in her last hours as well as Dr. Porter and his staff at Missions of Mercy, for their constant love and compassionate care of Janie.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tuesday, April 24, 2012, Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery.
