Jake was a gentle, kind hearted young man. He was a man of great faith in the Lord. He believed that everyone deserved a second chance and it was always “now” time to get right with God. Start over, as God was and is Forgiving. Jake loved reading the Bible. It was the first and last thing he would do on a regular daily basis. He praised God by reading scriptures and loudly prayed for everyone to hear. “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him” (PSALM – 91) I am home at last.
Jake graduated with honors from TAMUCC and earned a Bachelors in Business degree. While attending public school (grades 1 - 12), he only missed one day of school, to attend his Grandma Chris’s funeral. Jake enjoyed bonfires especially during cold days. He also enjoyed target shooting at the ranch. He loved his Dallas Cowboys, the Spurs, Baylor Bears, and the Texas Longhorns. He loved his dogs: Zoee, Cisco, Brandi, and Ali.
A true fan, please wear something Dallas Cowboys in Jacob’s honor.
He is survived by his mother, Edna M. Everett and step-mom, Rita; brothers, James J. Ruiz and Joshua S. Ruiz; nieces, Eriya (Little E) and Madelyn; nephew, Jimmy (Bubba); great niece, Baby Camilla; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Joel Ruiz and step-mom Ella; his grandparents, Grandpa Lee and Grandma Chris and Grandpa Slim and Grandma Dora; Uncle Frank and Uncle JR.; cousins, USMC Gabriel Jasso and Baby Scottie, and friend Bruce Williams.
