The family moved to Sinton, Texas in 1935 and later to Corpus Christi. Henry attended and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948 and enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served from July 1948 thru July 1952 as Radar Operator. After decorating a cake for an officer he was found to be a cook and butcher. He was made cook for Captain of the USS Juano. He met and married Earline Sommer (Moench) in Bay City, Texas. June 1961 in Bay City, Texas he opened and operated Moody’s’ Meats, originally 1964 in Bay City and then moved to Corpus Christi Texas in 1966 as Moodys’ Quality Meats Inc. He owned and operated it from 1966 thru 1991 at which time he retired to Brenham Texas to his beloved ranch and cattle, leaving his son and family to operate the business.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace; father, Clinton; brothers, Herman and Clinton, Jr.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Earline S. Moody; son, Terry Moench (Suzie); grandsons, Charlie (Elizabeth) and Terry, Jr. (Emily); 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Alex, Casey, Cory and Lauren, all of which were his pride and Joy; Many brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and his former workers, who are like family to him.
Family would like to give many thanks to our customers and friends for the prayers, cards and calls over the years; also many thanks to all his doctors and staff of Palms Nursing Home.

Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Cage-Mills. A Chapel Service will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Cage –Mills. A Graveside Service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Prairie Lea Cemetery, 1004 Prairie Lea St., Brenham, Texas.
