Frances Carrizales Rodriquez, 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 12, 1932, to Esteban Carrizales and Romula Gonzales Carrizales. She graduated from Roy Miller High School.
She married B. Frank Rodriquez, the love of her life, on February 11, 1956. They were married for 37 years before his passing. She was a caring, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Frances had a passion for helping others which led her to becoming a CNA for Sunnybrook Nursing Home, working over 25 yrs. She was a lifelong member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Attending mass was an important aspect of her life. She supported various ministries that provided shelters for the homeless and those in need including retirement and nursing homes.
Her favorite pastime was solving puzzles, going to the movies and dining out with her family and friends. And she never forgot to ask for her coffee, which she took seriously, VERY SERIOUSLY. Frances had a love for the Arts/Music and Theatre which included visiting the Art Centers, museums and attending local festivals and theatrical plays. She also enjoyed visiting the senior centers to play Chalupa Bingo which she was notorious for winning! But her 2 most memorable trips were taken as pilgrimages with the church to Rome, Italy. She took much spirituality in having visited there.
Mom you will be dearly missed by your family and all those who loved you. You will be forever in our hearts.
Frances was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, 4 sisters, Vicenta Silvas, Victoria Garza, Eusevia Platz, Jane Torres, 1 brother, Johnnie Carrizales, and 2 grandsons, David James Rodriquez and David Andrew De La Rosa.
Survivors include her 5 children, Sheila Castillo, Belinda Gomez, Amanda (Agustin) De La Rosa, Frank David Rodriquez, Michael Eric Rodriquez. 4 grandsons, Victor Eric Rodriquez, Zachary Matthew Gomez, Adam Frank Rodriquez, Agustin De La Rosa III and 1 great granddaughter, Alexis Marie (Lexi) Rodriquez.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 5 – 8 PM with Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church.
