Ernest “Ernie” Galvan Ruiz passed away on May 15, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 60. He was born on November 25, 1956 to Ernest and Maria Ruiz. He was a talented musician that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He will be remembered for his love of music, it was his passion in life. Ernest played the drums with several groups throughout his life and in his younger days he played with his main group “Los Chachos.” He never knew a stranger and was kind hearted to everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his niece, April Marie Sanchez.
Ernest leaves behind to cherish his memories his siblings, Michael Ruiz (Victoria), Diana Ruiz (Sid Alvarado), Cynthia Ruiz; nieces and nephews, Lexi Ruiz, Savanah Ruiz, Mikey Ruiz, Felicity Ruiz, Ronnie Garcia, Robert Sanchez and Jeremy Ruiz.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Prince of the Apostle Catholic Church on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Services will conclude in the church.
