She was the matriarch that was known for gathering not only the immediate family but grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends for festivities and special occasions, always wanting to share homemade Mexican food: mole, tortillas, menudo and tamales. Emilia had two great passions in life, her faith in prayer which she practiced daily and her love for the art of crochet which she mastered at an early age with an uncanny ability. Emilia amazed us with her talents and creations, and she enlightened us with her wisdom which emanated from a profound sense of humility and love for God. She was an absolute joy to everyone who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.
Emilia was preceded in death by her husband, Adan Lugo, Sr.; son, Porfirio; parents, Acacio and Bibiana, and brothers, Francisco and Adolfo. She’s survived by her brother, Proceso (Rosa) and her 8 of 9 children: Inocencio (Maria), Marino, Celia (Hector), Raul (Felicitas), Adan Jr. (Victoria), Maria (Patrick), Linda, and Jaime (Lori) and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great- great granddaughter.
