Elena A. Rivas

Elena Altamirano Rivas, age 65, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 3, 1956. Elena graduated from Sinton High School and received her Bachelors from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.

She married the love of her life, Ramon Rivas, on April 11, 1977. Elena was an active member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church and had a passion for encouraging children to believe in themselves and their abilities. She shared her love of God, passion for religious life and intense love for her family with everyone she met.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Trinidad Bielmas Altamirano and two sisters, Rosa Guerrero and Angie Sampayo.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ramon M. Rivas; her children, Ramon Jr. (Christina), Simon (Nakitta), Marcus and Crystal (Kevin); grandchildren, Alexandra, Angelina, Ramon III, Micaella, Cattia, Elijah, Cali and Simon Kai. She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren. Elena will be lovingly missed by her sisters, Janie, Connie, Teresa and brother, Jose.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 18, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Parish, located at 3350 S. Alameda Street in Corpus Christi at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
