Doreen Valerie Harris

She was born in Cardiff, Wales, U.K. on May 18, 1927 to parents Albert Edward John and Beatrice Annie Tugwell. Doreen being Albert’s daughter would create her path to the beautiful life of a dual citizenship as a Welch and US native.

Doreen Valerie Harris met her husband during his military tour in India at the age of 15 years old and life was beautiful. William T. Harris Jr. and Doreen married on July 13th 1946 and celebrated 52 years of true love testaments of kindness and worship.

Doreen was true to anyone she met and had a strong dedication to her church. She would spend her days in fellowship and laughter. Doreen and William reared 3 beautiful children, Gordon Fuller Harris, Valerie J. Hebert, Terry Harris. Her life is a testament of enduring love, spirit, and joy and will be remembered as such.

She could be seen watching a Dallas Cowboys game and cuddling with her cats, or outside in the sun working on her garden and plants.

She is preceded in death by her son Terry Harris and her memories will be cherished by her children, Gordon Fuller Harris and Valerie J. Hebert; grandchildren, Christopher and Jason Crowe, Karen Harris, Shawna Scharich, Andrew and Aaron Harris.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78411.

A Holy Eucharist will be celebrated Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3026 S. Staples St., Corpus Christi, TX 78404, with a funeral cortege at 1:00 PM to Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78412.
