David protested the Corpus Christi ISD Superintendent's Interviews (No Hispanic or Local Finalists) conducted at a private facility the CC Yacht Club. This meeting was ruled in violation of the Open Meetings Act. The All Anglo Superintendent Finalists withdrew. The new Finalists included three CCISD Hispanic Assistant Superintendents. Ultimately, the first Hispanic Superintendent in CCISD history was selected.
