She was born June 29, 1946 in London, England. Her father was a bomber pilot in the Royal Air Force in WWII. her grandfather was a driver for Parliament and at onetime was a Winston Churchill's driver.
Carole graduated from Oxford University with a Master's Degree in English Literature. Over the course of her life she has owned restaurant franchises, worked in furniture sales, and later owned a furniture store. She was a former owner of a lamp store and repair shop. She worked for a time as a consultant for interior and exterior lighting for an electric hardware company. She spent the last seven years working for Elegant Homes as a construction foreman, supervising crews in custom home construction and was also lead salesperson.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael McClain.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gale Gibson of Corpus Christi; her four children, John McClain, Glen McClain (Corinna) of Dade City, Florida, Kelly Brown of Allen, Texas and Nyree Cavazos of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2727 Airline Rd. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
