Carlos was a life time resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was an independent truck driver for 50 years and always took pride in keeping his Black Dump truck spotless. He retired in 1992. Prior to being a truck driver, he worked in picking cotton and was dedicated to his work.
After retiring, he took care of his beloved wife and kept an immaculate home and yard. He was a devoted husband to Maria J. Chapa for 64 beautiful years. We will truly miss our father. He always made sure his family was provided for.
He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Chapa; mother, Maria E. Chapa; wife, Maria J. Chapa; son, Carlos Chapa Jr.; and siblings, Rodemira Mican, Ruben Chapa, and Adolfo Chapa Sr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his daughters, Grace Sedillo, Esther Rocha (Gilbert), Elida Reyes (Rey); five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Mario Chapa, Juventino Chapa, Maria Mendiola and Rosa Bocanegra.
The family would like to thank Rafael and Josie Esparza for their support and endless amount of love. As well as Rafael and Josie’s daughters, Ruby and Rebecca. Carlos really enjoyed their company with each visit.

A Holy Rosary will be recited at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. that same morning. He will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
