Ronald Pierce was born in Manchester, England on November 13, 1933 to Arthur Pierce and Ann (Higham) Pierce. After surviving the aerial bombings of World World II as a child, he subsequently joined the British Army. He later moved to Toronto, Canada and ultimately to Hollywood, California where he met his future wife, Maria Teresa Vergara, of Quito, Ecuador. They did not speak each other’s language, but quickly fell in love on the ballroom floor.
Ron was an avid cyclist, photographer, and Latin ballroom dancer who never made an enemy and was always the life of the party. He was known for his keen wit and refined sense of humor. Ron retired as a senior accountant from Occidental Petroleum. He enjoyed Frank Sinatra, Rita Coolidge, great bourbon and tawny port.
He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Maria Teresa Pierce of Mission Viejo, his daughter, Natalie Pierce of San Francisco, and his granddaughter, Rachel Maria Flynn of San Francisco. He will also be missed by his many wonderful friends around the world.
Service and interment will be at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California on January 13, 2022.
