He was born in Madison, Wisconsin and relocated as a youngster to Huntington Park, California. After serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II, Bob found work in the booming housing construction industry in Southern California. Starting as a day laborer for one dollar per hour, he eventually became the CEO of a major apartment builder in the Los Angeles area.
Bob’s ultimate project came when he had the vision to acquire the rights to develop an extraordinary fifty-acre parcel along Huntington Beach’s famous coastline, building the Waterfront Hilton. Twenty very busy years later the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa was built. He will be remembered for his community service, philanthropic generosity and commitment to the city of Huntington Beach.
Bob is survived by his three children, Linda, RJ and Michael and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great greatgrandchildren.
