Rachel graduated from Carlsbad High School class of 1994, and attended California State Long Beach earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine and Kinesiology. Due to Rachel’s passion for travel, she later went on to become a corporate event planner working for Red Bull International for many years organizing large-scale private events to include Formula One and Red Bull Air Racing. Once her son was born Rachel wanted to spend more time at home and care for her children, so she took on the daunting task of entrepreneurship and grew a largely successful business called Plus 1 group. Through her own business she continued to provide exceptional event planning services to various companies including Red Bull. Rachel was well known in the hospitality community, however, her love and devotion to her two beautiful children, River and Harper, was her biggest joy in life! Rachel was dedicated to volunteering in their schools, participating in the Parent-Teacher Association, and cheering each of them on as a Team mom for their sports teams and classrooms.
Rachel had a zest for traveling, trying new things, and a love for spicy food. She will be remembered for being an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, mother and friend. Her kind spirit, love for animals and genuine care for others will live on through her children.
Rachel was loved by all who knew her and was able to light up any room with her smile and kindness. She is survived by her mother, Valerie, her stepfather Hugh, her sister, Michaela, her brother-in-law Alfred, Nephew Bridon, Nieces Arabella and Hadley and her two children River and Harper.
In the last few weeks of her life, she came to know the love and mercy of Jesus Christ and accept Him as her Savior. As believers, we find comfort knowing we will see her again. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 15th, at 10 a.m. at Pacific View Memorial Park. Donations may be directed to the River & Harper Fund.
