Mary Lou, originally from Oklahoma City, moved to California and graduated from Escondido High School. Then she obtained her Registered Nursing degree via scholarship at Mercy College in San Diego, California. After nursing, Mary Lou eventually settled in Los Alamitos where she devoted herself to homemaking and raising her 4 children, forever caring, planning, saving for them, but rarely spending anything on herself. She loved to cook for family and friends, and always remembered the details of every meal, as well as everyone’s favorite foods. Mary Lou also loved playing the piano, the beach and boating, her Springer spaniel dogs, and clipping coupons as a sport! She will be remembered for her big heart, empathy, generosity, her sense of humor - and her feistiness!
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Marie L. Turk, and her brothers Ernest Turk and Robert Turk. She is survived by her four children and their partners, Linda Clayton and Michael Young, Michael Clayton and Kay Swikart, Steve Clayton and Tina Wang, and Michelle Clayton, as well as her four beautiful grandchildren, Olivia and Anna Kate Young, and Jake and Matthew Clayton. She is also survived by her sister Aileen Ayers and her husband, Darrell Ayers.
A private service is planned for the immediate family at Pacific View Memorial Park, Corona Del Mar on Thursday November 19th, 2020.
