Mark worked in the petroleum industry as a petroleum engineer all his life. He initially worked for the Continental (CONOCO) Oil Company in Los Angeles and then Ventura. In 1965 he went to work for the THUMS (Texaco, Humble, Union, Mobil & Shell) Oil Company in Long Beach, CA. After retiring from THUMS he continued working as a consulting petroleum engineer for Signal Hill Petroleum. He was a mentor to many young engineers in the petroleum industry.

He was a passionate gardener/farmer and for many years owned avocado groves in the Fallbrook, CA area. He became an expert in the preparation of guacamole.

Mark’s greatest accomplishment however was his decision to believe in Jesus Christ and because of that decision years ago he is in Heaven now with his wife and two sons who preceded him there.
