She was born and raised in California and never wanted to live anywhere else. She loved her home, St. Alban's church, UCLA, Kappa Alpha Theta, the Jonathan Club, National Charity League, volunteering at St. John's hospital, golden retrievers, napping, Yosemite, listening to classical music, eating in restaurants and enjoying the company of her family.
She was an amazing piano player and could play by ear. At Crown Cove, where she lived the last 6 years of her life, she was an expert at bingo, Rummikub and inside golf. She had a huge collection of headbands which she enjoyed wearing every day. She collected bunnies of every kind - stuffed, china, cement, needlepoint and crystal. She probably read every book Danielle Steel ever wrote. And, she enjoyed playing Sudoku almost every day.
Jean was strong willed, generous and loving and we will miss her. She leaves behind her children: Susan (Peter), Douglas Jr. (Kathleen) and Bruce as well as her grandchildren: Sarah (David), Erin (Charlie), Laura (Greg), Gavin (Elizabeth) and Douglas III as well as 10 great grandchildren: Carson, Brooke, Dylan, Camden, Reid, Asher, Micah, Wyatt, Taylor and Luke.
