Dear Auntie Carol and family,
The service was beautiful. When I saw Phinney walking Madeline at outdoor service while violin was playing, I said to myself it was the perfect tribute to Uncle Bill, he was someone very special.

We miss you already Grandpa Cho. He was always looking upward and forward, always in awe and appreciation of the beauty and richness of life around him, always paying attention to and memorizing details, dates, and numbers, always positive and sweet with a contagious smile and laugh. He was quiet in his later years of life, but once he started talking, he was like a history textbook, stating chronological dates and occurrences and people he has met through his life. He struggled and suffered through these last few years of life. Aging has not been kind, but he fought like a champ and pushed through to keep his independence and autonomy for 88 years.  I am so sad to let go of my second grandfather, but I feel some peace that he can finally put his pain, suffering, and grief to rest. I sometimes feel guilty that I am living life separate from my grandparents, with the privilege of education and autonomy because of the paths my grandparents have worked so hard all their lives to pave. It’s also hard to come to terms with the reality that it often takes celebrations and illness to bring us together throughout the year because the original family tree naturally branches off as it grows and no longer can remain a tree stump. However, I am so grateful for all the significant milestones we were able to share and for the roots that forever connect us. Thank you Grandpa for showing us how to work hard, how to smile and encourage others, how to keep a family together even through the toughest of times, and how to find beauty anywhere we go.
You will always be in my heart and my mind. I can’t wait to see you again.

Dear Auntie Carol, Elsa and Esther, 

 I will always remember he invited Nick and I to the family trailer in Wisconsin and we spent a day with him and auntie Carol. We had lunch in a bar, we ate hamburgers, autine Carol asked the bartender for extra tomatoes on the side and also told me she loves tomatoes. It is good for her.

I feel blessed to have known uncle William. He was a wonderful uncle.

Dear Auntie Carol, Esther and Elsa,
We are very saddened by the passing of Uncle William. He was a very thoughtful and special person. I've always enjoyed our time together with him. I was especially touched when I learned years ago how he had helped and welcomed Bob to come over to the states and stay be a part of your family to begin his life in the U.S. One flower that will always remind me of him are "Sweet William".  We had visited him when he was living in Springfield, IL and he proudly showed us the flowers that he had planted at the place he was living, Sweet William.  I think perhaps while we are in planting season now I will plant some Sweet William in loving memory of him.
