Ellen Katzman

She was born on August 23, 1933, in Hartford, CT. She grew up in West Hartford, CT with her parents, Harry & Etta Arenson, and her younger sister, Lois Miller.

Ellen graduated Valedictorian from Hall High School before attending Smith College where she majored in English. After graduating Smith in 1955, she worked as a school teacher for three years before becoming a full-time mom. Ellen raised 5 children and was very proud of each of them. Her dedication to the field of education went beyond her years of teaching and extended to her deep-seated value for learning.

Ellen married her childhood best friend and sweetheart, Harold on June 14, 1955. They had known each other since the second grade. Their love, commitment and dedication to one another was heartfelt and everlasting.

Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid tennis player. Ellen’s other interests included, fashion, movies, music, traveling, and dancing with Harold.

Ellen is survived by her loving children, Todd (Kelly) Katzman, Terri (Blake) Quinn, Scott (Kate) Katzman, Heidi (Gary) Zohman, and Jamie (Stephanie) Katzman; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Ellen was predeceased by her granddaughter, Mackenzie Katzman, sister, Lois Miller, and husband, Harold Katzman.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A private, intimate family memorial will be held at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach, CA.
