David James Bush was called home to the Lord on December 5, 2018 in Newport Beach, California, at the age of 77, surrounded by loved ones. He was born to James Jacob Bush and Dorothy Huizenga Bush on May 6, 1941 in Morrison, Illinois.
David was educated at Central College of Pella, Iowa and later received his M.D. from the University of Iowa. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and enjoyed a long and successful medical career, serving cancer patients as a radiation oncologist in Grand Rapids, MI; Rochester, MN; Biloxi, MS, New Orleans, LA; Arlington, TX; Waynesville, NC; and ultimately retiring from practice in Seneca, SC.
In 2017, David married Nancy Williams Bush of Newport Beach, with whom he spent his final years in retirement with her love and support. The two were inseparable in their passion for travel, love of family, and fondness for their shared pets. David and Nancy were congregational members of Mariners Church and he spoke often of his faith in God.
David is preceded in death by his father James Bush, his first wife, Barbara Boat Bush and his second wife, Cynthia Williams Bush. David is survived by his wife Nancy Williams Bush, her daughter Michele, his children Cali, Sacha, and Nathan Bush, David’s siblings Bev Borger of Frederick, CO and Art Bush of Dubuque, IA, his mother Dorothy Bush of Morrison, IL, Cynthia’s sons Les and Greg Williams, and their five children.
