There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t look at the picture hanging on our living room wall. It was taken when mom came with us for a cruise when she was 80 years old. It brings back many memories.
The day is fast approaching when Jesus will come back to rapture His Church.  Like the song says “What a day that shall be when my Jesus I shall see . . .”
There are so many also that we are looking to spend eternity with.  See you soon mom.

Sharon and I were watching the many fireworks that were surrounding us last night. July 1st will always have an extra special memory knowing that mom went to be with the Lord forever that day.
I was preparing for Celebration service on July 4th, 2021 when the many fireworks were going off as well from Cornwall Island. It with always be etched in my mind that she was sent with fireworks  and I wonder how special her welcoming was in heaven. See you soon.

I have been thinking for a week of what memory I could share of my beloved granny. The word granny is such a small and simple word but yet my memories could pave a road spanning the height of a mountain! As young children we couldn't wait for Friday night to arrive to find out if you were the lucky grandchild that would get to spend the weekend at granny's! It didn't matter if grandpa was at some point over the weekend was to drill you about whatever Bible verse he wanted you to memorise.  Just to be with granny was worth it! The smell of her "house", baked goods, maybe the smell of canning, oil, zest soap in washroom, meal time (best cook I have ever known) and that horrible sulfur smell of the well water, a window open at night time while you slept just enhanced the peacefulness you felt while there. Never a harsh voice, just a clicking of her tongue(must of been one of those many tongue scars Uncle Brad spoke about!)and loving chastise. Not knowing as a child at the time exactly what effort is put into what granny accomplished in a day, as an adult boggles me! She made homemade clothes for our Barbie's, everything served was fresh or homemade or from her canned goods, helped grandpa in his dealership (grandpa always used a broom to hit ceiling to  summon help), she baked, knitted, made quilts, housework, helped put farm equipment together, would drive to deliver a thinking of you basket to someone in need, attended all church services Sunday, Wednesday, WM meetings, made sure she was always at your school Christmas play and always made sure each and every grandchild, child, friend was remembered on their birthday, or anniversary. Granny's dedication to her loved ones, her faith in Christ, her unending prayers for everyone or anyone, gave you such a peace you just couldn't get enough of her!! Granny I love you so much. You taught me so much. I wanted to grow up to be like you but then figured out as an adult you ran marathons while I could only run a block!!

Throughout the last few weeks our family has been told over and over again how special mom was. She has left us with an incredible legacy. There are so many memories that it is impossible to select just one.
As I mentioned in my memorial sermon, she taught us to "Pray, Obey and Say (to share God's Word)." She was very down to earth and practical in her Christian walk. Many people have mentioned how she brought joy to their lives. The depth of her love would not allow her to bypass the need to share truth and any concern she had in the direction we were taking. She is one of the main reasons I have served as a pastor since 1984. 
Her and Earl were a generous couple. They shared their faith openly and sincerely. Both we very hard workers. Now they are both at rest in their heavenly home enjoying God's presence forever. She is there without pain, has a clear mind and will never cry again. We are sure she is enjoying the time with her family and loved ones who have gone on before her. Sharon and I will see you soon.

I will miss Grannie because she accepted me as I am and was proud of me when I came back to the Catholic Church.

Grannie always shared stories about Rebecca and was so fortunate to hold Rebecca first born Tristan.
Grannie never got to meet Rebecca second child Ryan Smith.  Unfortunately with miles separating families it is so hard connect personally. We felt it was important to share this because of the relationship grannie had with Rebecca being Brian's oldest

I have such amazing memories of my many many visits to see Earl and Lula.  My parents farm tractors always needed parts.  They were both so nice to me.   I always think of them.  They had such beautiful huge gardens and stunning hollyhocks.

Granny Eamer was one of a kind. The kind of person you meet and wish more people were just like them. Granny taught us all the importance of hard work, and never to grumble while working, because "you are blessed to be able to work". Granny would often be seen on her riding lawn mower, cutting the grass, or driving a back hoe to dig a hole, or head to toe covered, going into the thick raspberry bushes to pick some beloved berries. She always had a delicious meal on the table to thank us for our hard work, and always had a few hidden goodies in the cupboard. I have so many memories from living with Granny and Grandpa Eamer for 15 months when we moved to Ontario.  Granny was always in church, every Sunday, with a smile on her face. While others would grumble because the Youth were "doing a fast song again" Granny would smile and clap along, and tell us after "You guys did a great job!" Always a positive word. The most famous line that myself and my children will remember is "you're a good person." She loved to cuddle with Seth, and would often invite him into her bed when we went for visits at Sandfield Place. She loved when Tameka and Sarina would sing "Jesus Loves Me" and even up until the end, still knew the words. She loved kisses, and loved babies. I know she would have loved to see Meira, and I'm honored that Meira's middle name is Lula, and hope she will carry on with Granny impeccable attitude and love for everyone. My deepest condolences to the entire family. Lula was a granny to us all!  Her bright smile and wit were always there to brighten your day. We are temporarily separated from her beautiful personality but I know we will see her again.

I' remember her sweet greetings always with a big hug,  she made  you feel so loved and not judged.

Granny. Not grandma, nanny or nona. Granny was a 'Granny' through and through. Granny was a dedicated wife, mother and parent. She knew the value of hard work but also the blessing of a large family. I fondly remember her amazing strawberry jam and all the canning preserves that were shelved neatly (among the tools, hardware and chainsaw supplies in the basement).  No need for store bought goods when you have a green thumb and grand kiddos to help with the harvest.  Many summers were spent raspberry picking and corn hauling... sometimes even rewarded with coins for Barkley's corner store. Granny was always making sure we were fed (knowingly or not... as there were many stolen baked goods - who could refuse her 'nun fart' pastries?!). Granny made sure I was on the straight and narrow. Her stern yet loving guidance ensured I was safe and loved - away from the railway tracks and river . A nighttime reading of "Slow Poke Goes to the Circus" will always be fondly cherished. Thank you Granny for your guidance and love. Always remembered and loved deeply, we will miss you Granny.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Lula !!
Although we never met  I feel we knew her through stories from Laverne, and Luke ( my son-in-law) and other  of the Labelle  Family ! I’m sure you’re al going to miss her very much ! You’ve lost a mother, sister,  grandmother and , great-Grandmother to several !!
