PIPER, Louis "Lou" Colbert, 87, of Cornwall, at the Cornwall Community Hospital, February 16, 2014. Lou was a graduate of CCVS. He served during WWII as a Sapper in the 3rd (Reserve) Field Company RCE and was an Acting AB Radar Plotter RCNVR. Following the war he was Ship's Purser on the Lady Rodney. Lou had a long and interesting career including CJOH-TV and four years in Bermuda as a bookkeeper, he retired from Statistics Canada in 1991. Lou loved to travel, read, was an avid photographer and a keen movie history buff. Born October 25, 1926, in Waterville, Quebec, he was the son of the late Leon Ozro Piper and the late Lily (Lockerby) Piper. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Alice (Demontigny) Terriah-Piper and cherished step-children Holly (Claude Collette), Dale (Bill Andrews), Kim (Gerry Houchen), Sue (Doug Crites), Daniel Terriah (Dara) and their families. Predeceased by Gerald "Buzzy" Terriah. Lou was preceded in death by one brother Capt. Allan Piper of Tweed and four sisters; Helen Starling, Lily Snider-Poirier, Doris Lapensee all of Cornwall, Penelope "Penny" McPhail of Kingston He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and their families. Uncle and life-long friend of Leon Lapensee. Our loss is heaven's gain.
