MALEK, Katharyn (Lil) Elizabeth (née Melenko) – On Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Henley House (PrimaCare) in St. Catharines, ON, Katharyn Malek of St. Catharines and formerly of Cornwall, age 89 years, passed away peacefully. Beloved wife of the late Elie Malek. Loving mother of Thomas Cain (Beverly), Christine Nikoden (the late Ronald) and the late Victoria Versage, all of St. Catharines. Cherished grandmother of Cassidy, Thomas, Joseph and the late Jody. Great grandmother of Lucas, Trey, Jada, George and Grace Kathryn. Godmother of Betty Blance. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Victoria (née Solomon) Melenko. Also predeceased by her siblings Michael Melinko (Helen), Birdie Chapman (William) and Doreen Laubach (Victor). Katharyn will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Resting at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of Service. A Funeral Service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. Burial at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery and a reception will follow at Lahaie and Sullivan Funeral Home.
