Joan Moak

Joan Moak (née Hutt) - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our cherished mother, Joan Moak. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 90 on September 8, 2022. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, nanny, sister, and friend.

Beloved wife of Stirling Moak who she shared 61 years of marriage until his death in 2012. Adored mother of Duane and Cathy (Tom) Cleary both of Cornwall. Cherished grandmother of Krista (Brad) Periard, Stephanie (Greg) Leroux, Erica (Lee) Charlebois, Kyle (Sarah Drury) Moak, and Wade Moak. Loving great-grandmother (nanny) to Jaxon Leroux, Monroe and Scarlett Hollis, Clark and Doug Periard.

Joan is survived by her siblings Shirley (Cliff) Funder, Carole (Walter) Slany, Bryce (Barb) Hutt, and Trevor (Joanne) Hutt. She is predeceased by her parents Percy and Gladys Hutt, stepmother Rita Hutt, and brothers Leland and Mervin Hutt.

Cremation services are entrusted to the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. All services are private.

Joan was an operator for Bell Canada for almost 40 years. The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Villa for their dedication to their work and patients. Joan received exceptional care and we are forever grateful for your compassion and kindness.
