At the General Campus of The Ottawa Hospital on Thursday, February 8, 2018, Helen Elizabeth (née Mullen) Lamarche of Cornwall; age 45 years. Beloved daughter of the late Robert and Marlene (née Dewar) Mullen. Proud mother of Brandon and Valerie Lamarche. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Patrick Lamarche of Cornwall. Also survived by her parents-in-law Estelle and Doug Snetsinger of Cornwall, and her sister-in-law Vicky Bourbonnais (Jean), nephew Christopher, and nieces Jenna and Casey, all of Edmonton. Helen will be missed by a large extended family and by the many friends she made during her too-short life. She loved playing hockey and golfing and she was a passionate fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Montreal Canadiens. She knew the lyrics to innumerable songs and often sang along. She enjoyed good conversation and could talk for hours over a coffee or a drink – or several. Helen’s final piece of advice, while discussing what to include in her obituary, was “Tell them to live life balls to the wall.” Special thanks to the oncology staff at The Ottawa Hospital for the care they provided in her final weeks. In accordance with Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be in attendance at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) on Sunday, February 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. A Memorial Service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a trust fund for Brandon and Valerie would be appreciated by the family.
