HAMEL, Gerry - Peacefully at Woodland Villa on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the age of 88, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of 65 years to Peggy (Lafortune). Caring father of Steven (Arlene), Cathy McKee (late Gerry), Lisa Charlebois (Raymond) and Ann Massop (Tony). Left to mourn is his brother Maurice (late Ruth) and his sister Claudette Lahaie (John). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Romeo and Laurette Hamel and his brother Robert. Resting at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday and from 9 am until time of service on Monday. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 in St. Peter’s Church at 11 am. Followed by burial at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery.
