BRUNET, Gerard (Gerry) – Peacefully at his residence, at the McConnell Manor, on Wednesday April 3, 2013. Gerry Brunet of Cornwall age; 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Irène (Proulx) Brunet. Dear father of Denis Brunet (Simin Ataei) of Vancouver, Diane Lajoie Moshier (Tim) of Cornwall and Suzanne Beaupré (Alain) of Williamstown. Predeceased by his son André Brunet. Cherished grandfather of Renée Poitras (Nathan), Andrée Beaupré (Paul Bradley), Claûde Beaupré (Michael Robertson), Michelle Brunet (Andrew Twinning) and Tyler Lajoie (Tara Butler), great grandfather of Jack Poitras. Survived by his longtime companion Helena Wheeler, brothers Art Brunet (Fleurette) and Jim Brunet (Pauline Secours), sisters Marie Godard, Gloria Blanchard and Lyette Ladouceur (late Roger). Predeceased by his parents, Euclide and Éliana (Campeau) Brunet and by his brother Zenor Brunet (late Rachel). Gerry was a Co-founder of Brunet Bros. Contractors, Hardware and Building Supply Ltd. and a 4th Degree, Knight of Columbus. Resting at Lahaie and Sullivan, Cornwall Funeral Homes, East Branch, 614 First Street East, (613-933-2841) from 2 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Monday, April 8, 2013 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery. The family will be in attendance Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until time of Funeral on Monday.
