Born October 13th 1924 in Rochdale, Lancashire England.
Edgar served in the Royal Navy near the end of World War II and was a Royal Navy reservist after the war for a short time.
He met his first wife and my mother Agnes, when he was stationed in Glasgow
He worked at the Ellenroad Mill in Newhey. Later on, he trained and worked as an industrial spray painter.
After emigrating to Quebec in the early sixties he worked as a spray painter in Ville LaSalle, Candiac and Lachine.
Edgar also worked as painter and wallpaper hanger at an exclusive Westmount apartment complex.
After he and Agnes divorced in the mid seventies, Edgar met Rita Childs, they fell in love and were married.
Edgar and Rita left Quebec and moved to the Kitchener-Waterloo area of Ontario.
He continued working as a spray painter and eventually was hired at Comdev International in Cambridge, Ontario where he worked until his retirement in 1989.
In his spare time he also did minor house painting jobs for a few friends.
Edgar and Rita retired to the Cornwall area and lived together happily until 2007, when Rita passed away after fighting cancer.
Edgar loved to sing, starting in the Church choir and when he got older he would sing at the Workmen’s Club in England. From there it was to the Montreal Welsh Male Choir and eventually the Canadian Orpheus Male Choir in Hamilton.
Even in retirement he loved to go to Karaoke bars and entertain the patrons. He also had his own karaoke equipment,which he used to entertain at seniors centers.
Edgar was one of the 10 finalists in the Chartwell Senior Stars 2011 Competition held in Niagara Falls.
Edgar was also a model boat builder. He built sailing ships and warships some were built from kits and some from scratch. He even built models that were Radio-Controlled and operated on the water.
Edgar is predeceased by his wife Rita, his father Clifford, his mother Alice (nee Dawson), his sister Lillian and brother Raymond. Edgar is predeceased by daughters Alice, Carol, Margaret, Sarah and son David
Edgar is survived by his son Edgar Alan, grandson Keith David and his granddaughter Hazel
