So sorry Renee and Dale to hear of Al's passing. We will certainly miss him very much. Al was so dedicated in every aspect of life. His laugh and smile were something else. When our children were young Al and Renee would take them on days trips all the time. Al was very thoughtful and respected by everyone. I can remember him so well in his convertible with that big smile on his face. Al was a wonderful husband who loved his Renee with a passion. His beloved dog Higgins will also miss him



Renee, please accept my deepest sympathy. News of Al's passing brought sorrow as I remembered his cheerful presence in the Forensic Unit. I enjoyed the years we shared as co-workers. Diana and I wish the family well in this time of grief. 

I would like to echo what my sister Diana wrote about Algis.  He was so much fun, full  of life, and a total prankster when we
congregated at Tante Martha & Uncle Frank's place for those much anticipated parties that included amazing food and desserts, laughter, and noise.  Us kids were shooed into the spare room to play with the hooker.  Relax, a hooker was Tante's vinyl round pouf that we could take turns rolling around on while we chattered like monkeys, away from the adults who were drinking, smoking, debating, arguing, mingling, or cooking in the kitchen and living room.  Fabulous chaos!  Algis was such a lively kid; you could always expect a fake spider to land on Tante's shoulder as she was slaving in the kitchen, only to scream when Algis pointed it out to her.  Scamp! We  were thrilled  to be around him on those occasions.  Though we lost touch as adults, I did run into him at a sugar bush a couple of years ago, and we caught up for a bit.  And thanks to cellphones, I got a picture with him and his wife Renee that I shared with my family at that time.  Looking at that picture today, it's hard to believe he is gone.  My sincerest condolences and heartfelt prayers go to his wife Renee, his sister Dale, and their families.  When I think of Algis, my heart smiles wide.  Thanks for some great childhood memories.  May you rest in peace... xo


I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Algis’s passing.  He was my cousin by marriage. His Uncle Frank married my Aunt Martha.  We always spent Christmas and Easter Holidays with them since they had no children. We were their kids.  Algis loved to eat and play pranks on Aunt Martha.  He would scare the hell out of her and then laugh his devilish and infectious laugh.  He loved to collect Dinky Cars, he knew every model, year and colour at nauseum  to me.  He also wanted to be James Bond, Sean Connery of course!  My sister and l will never forget him even though we lost touch as we started HighSchool.  My deepest sympathies to Renee, and Dale and her family for such a tremendous loss.  He and our memories will always live in my heart.❤️

I am saddened to hear of Al's passing.   I was in dispatch while Al was an officer in the Ident unit.  Al was a kind gentle soul who was a pleasure to work with.

My wife Julie and I were shocked to hear of Al’s passing . Our condolences go out to Renee and Family. We had the pleasure to work with Al at Benson where he introduced us to Renee’s wonderful baking skills and her awesome Butter Tarts .
He shared with us his passion for his Pontiac Solstice and his new BBQ smoker every Monday we would hear what he had cooked over the weekend . Al was dedicated to his work.

Nancy and I were saddened to hear of Al's passing.  I spent a great number of years working with Al and could always see his smile and contagious laughter in the building at 340 Pitt.
He was a gentle hard working, fun loving, individual with an outgoing and positive view of the world, even when faced with difficult tasks.  
He was a man among men and he served his community and all those he had contact with, with great respect and honesty.

Incredibly sad news. I had just finished posting a picture of Al (on FB) showing him sitting in a Cornwall Police cruiser in front of the White House in Washington DC.   Al and I had gone to honour Police Officers during the Police Memorial Week.  It was only after posting the picture/article was I notified of his passing just a few days before.   We all have nothing but good memories of Al because that’s the kind of person he was.Loved and respected by all.  He will be sadly missed.  Rest In Peace Al.  Deepest condolences to the family. 

Because of COVID I did not get to see and be by my brother`s side when he needed me the most.  However, we hardly missed a week talking by phone until the latter part of January when he became to ill and weak to talk.  Renee, however, travelled back and forth to Ottawa hospital frequently and was by his side when he died. 

My brother always had a love for cars, I believe his first word as a baby was `car` .  He also loved his food and there he had a marriage made in heaven as Renee excels in that field.  I will miss my brother, my `bestest`` friend till we meet again.  Love you Al!

Dear Uncle Al,
There are no words to describe how it feels to have lost the best Uncle any niece could have.  When I was a kid, one of my favourite memories is when I used to get so excited to go to Aunt Renee and Uncle Al's house for a sleepover. I knew I was going to be fed well (Aunt Renee's cooking) and entertained, while listening to your stories and jokes. I remember playing Nintendo together, you taught me how to play Duck Hunt and the "flying saucer" game., those were my favorite.  I  remember how you liked to show me any new "toy" you bought, whether it was a new car or a new BBQ, whatever it was,  you were excited to talk about it and share all of its "cool features".  I remember our rides we took in your yellow Jeep and convertible (my two favorite vehicles you had).  I especially liked when I freaked you out that one time you took me driving (not in the convertible). I was glad to have had the opportunity to take you for a drive even though you thought I was going to total your car lol.
Your laugh was contagious. You laughed with your whole heart.  I remember you in your police uniform and I remember when you'd let me wear your hat. I am thankful I was able to speak with you on the phone one last time. I'm glad I was able to tell you I loved you  and that you were able to speak with my children. You were very proud of your position in life. You accomplished so much and you gave alot to your family. You deserve to be remembered and held high as someone who is an example of what generosity and compassion truly is. My children love you and will miss you always. As we keep Granny's memory alive, we will also keep yours alive now as well. My children will never forget you. Thank you Uncle Al for everything and..."I'll let you know if everything comes out ok"😉

He wasn't my Uncle, but that's what I 
called him, Uncle Al.  The thing I remember most is his laugh.  I was just a young kid and one of the things he would do is he would come over to our house and watch comedy movies with my dad ( Carter Kingston) and myself. His laugh was so loud and contagious. He was always so friendly, it was always a happy day as a kid when my parents said we were going to see Algis and Renee. He will be greatly missed. 


Uncle Al was my husbands uncle and the Godfather of my first born son. He loved my children dearly and we loved him with all our hearts.  The last day we saw him was one of the best days, we had all spent the entire day in Kingston. We will never forget his smile and laughter, he always had an amazing presence.  He was a good man and his life was taken away too early. We love you so much Uncle Al. May you Rest In Peace and I hope one day we will all see eachother again in the afterlife. 

As an OPP Officer I had occasion to work with Al and then in retirement he moved across the street from me  I got him to join the OPPVET's so that he could attend our social outings. Always fun to have him around with his daily jokes. May you rest in peace buddy
Sympathies to Renee and family 

I worked with Al in the late 70’s, at the old building of CORNWALL MOTOR SALES, on Second Street.  Al was a car salesman then, waiting for his call from the police department.  Eventually, that’s all he was talking about.  He was so anxious to be a Policeman.
I’m sure he was a very good Police..  He sure could make us laugh.

Sorry to hear of Al's passing. I had the honour of working with Al for several years. He was honest, caring and never had a bad word about anyone, His most important quality was he was a GOOD police Officer. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Al not only as a police officer but also as a part time co-worker with a local Cornwall company after retirement.  His smile and continuous good humor that he brought  with him to the office will forever be missed but not forgotten.  RIP my friend.

Al, I enjoyed your kindness, your nervous laughter and every moment we shared at work. I recall when we were using regular two way radios to survey a scene and you were telling people to stay off the air knowing very well that it could be used by anyone.   Needless to say that it didn't work. It was not that long ago that we were discussing a plan to go for a convertible ride next summer. Don't worry.... we will go for this ride, only this time, I'll do the talking.  I guess they were short of good guys up there... You will be missed. Till next time..... Dan
