BURGESS, Albert “Abby” – at Cornwall Hospice on Sunday November 20, 2016 in his 83rd year. Abby Burgess of Cornwall, known to many for his selflessness, service to others and gentle nature. Proud young seaman of the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway until he met the true love of his life, his wife Marian (Wells) Burgess to whom he was loyal, loving and devoted to for 59 years, truly her “Prince Albert”. Abby grounded his career to work at Pfizer and raise his family, he was the cherished father and best friend of Wendy McDonald and his late son Kenneth. Proud grandfather and reciprocal biggest fan of Colin, Graham, William and Lauren. His love and support will be forever remembered by his grandchildren. Will be sadly missed by his son-in-law Alan McDonald. Dear brother of Tom (Beverley) of Kirkland, Quebec, Terry (Nancy) of Ottawa and Gladys Theoret (David) of Long Sault. Predeceased by his brother Douglas and his sister Joyce Burke. Dear son of the late Ruskin Burgess and the late Hilda (Unsworth) Burgess. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482). A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Randlett and the staff of the Cornwall Hospice for their above and beyond care and compassion.
