Funeral services for Bro. Russell Hamm, 87, will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Biggersville Pentecostal Church with Rev. T.G. Ramsey and Rev. Robert Bayer officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park cemetery near Corinth.
Bro. Hamm died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Tippah County, MS on Monday, April 30, 1923 to the late P.E. and Zeade Robinson Hamm. Bro. Hamm was a graduate of Kossuth High School class of 1942, and shortly after graduating felt the call of God in his life to preach the Gospel. He surrendered to Gods call and for 67 years, faithfully, preached the love of Jesus everywhere he could. Before becoming the pastor of the Biggersville Pentecostal Church in 1972, he held a pastorate in Truman, Arkansas and Grandin, Missouri. Over the years, Bro. Hamm has held numerous revivals, weddings, and funerals, often singing during some of his funeral messages a song of hope to help the families with their loss. Everywhere he went, he always had a smile on his face and joy in his heart.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Euzena Patterson Hamm; two sons, Keith and Felix Hamm; and four sisters, Exie Glidewell, Eula Murray, Vasthi Arnold, and Ila Vee Hamilton.
He is survived by, one daughter, Kathy Dixon and her husband J.C.; four grandchildren, Jason Hamm and his wife Krystal; Amber Silverio and her husband Pedro; Patience Rorie and her husband Paul, and Joseph Dixon III; six great-grandchildren, Ashton Hamm, Jakob Hamm, Joseph Dixon IV, Maura Faith Rorie, Neely Rorie and Aliondra Silverio; and four sisters, Sue Windham, Vada Stacks and her husband Raymond, Ruby Jeans, and Etlas Mills; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 21 from 3:00 P.M. till service time on Saturday at the Biggersville Pentecostal Church.
