Funeral services for Ms. Thelma Montez Epperson, age 78 of Corinth, are set for one o’clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at McPeters, Inc. Funeral Directors Chapel with Bro. Warren Jones officiating. A private burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Park.
Ms. Epperson died October 2, 2013 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born April 8, 1935, in Tishomingo Co., MS to the late Claude W. and Nancy E. Whitaker. Ms. Epperson was united in marriage to Waco J. Epperson, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1994. Ms. Epperson had once enjoyed golfing and bowling, scoring very highly in both sports. She was a member of the Hillandale Country Club, and very much enjoyed socializing and spending time there.
Ms. Epperson is survived by one son, Travis Waco Epperson and wife Sandra of Corinth; two grandchildren, Sarah Gunn and husband Cliff of Franklin, TN, and Michael Epperson and wife Leigh Ann of Eastview, TN; two great-grandchildren, Brody and Colton Epperson; three sisters, Oline Hart and husband Leon of Nashville, TN, Bonnie Austin and Billie Harris both of Corinth; one brother, Lloyd Whitaker and wife Betty of Iuka, MS; and a host of friends and extended family.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Ms. Epperson was also preceded in death by a son, Wade Wesley Epperson, sisters, Linda and Mildred, and brothers, Floyd and Donald.
Visitation with the family will take place on Friday, October 4, 2013, beginning at five thirty in the evening and continuing until nine o’clock at McPeters, Inc. Funeral Directors. Visitation on Saturday, October 5, 2013, will begin at nine o’clock in the morning, and continue until service time at one o’clock.
